Impressive

I just had to leave a review for the InfiRay P2 Pro thermal camera because it's seriously blowing my mind. As a long-time fan of FLIR (I've owned both the FLIR ONE Pro and the FLIR ONE Gen 3), I was a bit skeptical about trying out a different brand, but I'm so glad I did.

First of all, let's talk specs. The P2 Pro has a resolution of 256 x 192, which is seriously impressive. The image refresh rate is 25Hz, so you get a super smooth video feed that's easy on the eyes. And the temperature range is -4°F to 1022°F, so you can detect everything from small temperature differences to super hot spots.

But what really sets the P2 Pro apart from other thermal cameras is its size. It's about the size of a big thumb and when you pair it with the extension cable, you can explore even harder-to-reach areas. Plus, since it's powered by your phone, you don't have to worry about constantly recharging the camera itself.

Overall, I'm seriously impressed with the P2 Pro. It's compact, efficient, and really does the job. If you're in the market for a thermal camera, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

Excellent bit of kit

I was hesitant to buy this camera after reading a review on Amazon that suggested that a You Tuber called Mark didn’t rate it highly!

However, after actually watching the Mark Fixes Stuff video I realised that Mark actually likes it. Go watch the video yourself to check, skip to about 10 minutes in for his summary.

Having used the camera for about a week (the iOS version) I have to say it is a fantastic bit of kit. I used a friends Flir camera a while back and was not impressed. The Flir camera cost more money, had a lower resolution, a slower refresh rate, did not have the macro capability offered by the Infi Ray P2 and needs it’s on board battery recharging quite frequently. Indeed, my friend had already had to buy a replacement custom battery from Flir (very expensive) after less than 2 years of use.

The InfiRay P2 Pro provides a very useable 256*192 resolution and an excellent 25Hz refresh rate. The macro facility is excellent for close up examination and is essential for things like PCB repair. So far the camera and app have been flawless but it’s early days… the unit is super compact, feels very robust, and has a nice quality feel in use.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase … it’s made tracing my heating pipes easy and like Mark says, it’s really cool to make hand prints (and cat prints) all over the place :-)

Blows the FLIR One Away

As an owner of the first generation 80x60 FLIR One (F1G1) and the later 160x120 F1G2 I can say hands down this is far above and beyond what FLIR offers both in a refresh rate of 25Hz versus 9Hz as well as from thermal clarity on the microblotter. The lack of internal battery on the P2 Pro is a great success over the battery self-draining issues with FLIR’s offering. I am beyond happy and the P2 Thermal application from the App Store is simple and quality to use.

The unit is tiny and works with my phone case on. I am very happy as an amateur LWIR junkie.

Good value for money but needs more work

The hardware is great but there are 2 annoying issues related to the iOS app:
1. The app is not available in every country, no idea why (for example Romania is not included).
2. The app does not allow locking the temperature range of the color scheme (it has some range adjustement and lock button but it's useless, when you change background, the color of your target (such as a moving hand) will still change, even though the indicated temperature value doesn't change.
3. Not sure if the app is the problem or also the hardware, but sometimes the image freezes for a second while some relay click sounds come from the cam. This appears to be a calibration procedure but feels unnecessary because it sometimes happens even if the scene doesn't change much.

Leistungsstarke Wärmebildkamera (Auflösung, Frequenz) zu günstigen Preis

Ich habe diese Kamera aus zwei Gründen ausgewählt: Einerseits die bessere Auflösung als vergleichbare Modelle 256x192 Pixel (üblich sind 160x120) sowie die 25 HZ Bildupdate-Rate die auch beim Schwenken des Telefons ein flüssiges Bild ergibt. Installation ist sehr einfach und schnell, Bedienung intuitiv, bzw. einfach. Da Kamera direkt an das Telefon gesteckt wird, werden auch keine Batterien (inkl. Ladethematik) benötigt. Kamera ist nach Anstecken an das Telefon in ca. 10 Sekunden betriebsbereit und liefert scharfe Bilder. Das Gerät baut sehr kompakt und das Gehäuse ist aus Metall gefertigt.
Bin rund um zufrieden, 5 Sterne, Daumen hoch.
