Hyundai & Kia Wireless CarPlay: Tucson, Sportage & More (2026)
Hyundai and Kia share their platform — and their CarPlay setup. Here’s how to go wireless on Tucson, Sportage, Santa Fe, Sorento, and more.
Hyundai and Kia share their infotainment architecture — and both are highly compatible with wireless CarPlay adapters.
Hyundai and Kia: shared platform, same solution
Hyundai Motor Group owns both Hyundai and Kia — and the two brands share their vehicle platforms, engines, and infotainment systems. This means the same wireless adapter works for both. If it works on a Hyundai Tucson, it works on the mechanically identical Kia Sportage. If it works on a Kia Sorento, it works on the Hyundai Santa Fe.
Both brands introduced CarPlay support from 2015–2017 depending on the model. Most vehicles from 2017 onwards have wired CarPlay and are compatible with wireless adapters.

Hyundai/Kia installation tips
- USB port location: Typically in the centre console between the seats — look for a USB-A port with a smartphone icon nearby. The 12V charging ports are not CarPlay-capable.
- First launch: Hyundai and Kia systems automatically detect CarPlay and show a confirmation prompt. Tap Yes / Allow when prompted — this only appears once.
- Elantra and Ioniq 5: Some 2021+ models have native wireless CarPlay — an adapter is optional but adds streaming and Android Auto enhancement.
- Android Auto support: All Hyundai and Kia models that support CarPlay also support Android Auto. Our adapters enable both wirelessly.
Frequently asked questions
Yes — both brands use the same infotainment architecture. Any adapter compatible with a Hyundai model is compatible with the equivalent Kia model, and vice versa.
Yes — BlueLink operates through Hyundai’s own system, independently of CarPlay. A wireless adapter doesn’t affect BlueLink connectivity at all.
The Kia EV6, newer Sportage GT-Line, and some 2022+ Sorento trims support wireless CarPlay natively. For all other models with wired CarPlay, an adapter adds wireless capability.
